Hackett’s Cajun Kitchen, as it is know today, was bought by Charlie Hackett in 1988. The previous owner had been in business for only 18 months when he decided to sell out.
Charlie however, saw great potential in it and along with his wife Karen, decided to make it their life. Add their own zest for the Cajun lifestyle and it’s cooking, Charlie and Karen turned Hackett’s into a household name in Southwest Louisiana.
Hackett’s has been voted best boudin, best plate lunches, and best cracklins (you really haven’t lived until you try these babies!) for several years running by both The Times and Lagniappe.
Having been in business for 20 years now and counting, they have no plans on going anywhere else!
